Inside BBNaija 11: Upside-down house design with 52 cameras, new HOH suite

Organisers of Big Brother Naija have unveiled the newly redesigned house for Season 11, revealing a television production facility built around an “upside down” and “topsy-turvy” concept, complete with 52 robotic cameras, a revamped Head of House suite and several redesigned living spaces.

Preparations for the latest edition of the reality show began in November 2025, about nine months before its July 26, 2026 premiere. According to a statement posted online on Sunday by the organisers, the project commenced with concept development and design before moving into procurement, sourcing and detailed planning.

The organisers also explained that although the planning process lasted several months, the physical conversion of the building into a fully operational television production facility was completed within two months.

The house, located adjacent to the live television studio, has been designed to accommodate more than 20 contestants while providing uninterrupted camera coverage across all areas of the competition.

To ensure continuous monitoring of activities inside the house, the facility is fitted with 52 robotic pan-tilt-zoom cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers, enabling every conversation and interaction among the housemates to be captured throughout the season.

The organisers said the BBNaija house is redesigned every year to enhance the viewing experience and improve storytelling through its layout and production design.

They noted that one of the most significant structural changes was introduced during Season 9 in 2024 when the staircase was relocated to the centre of the living room and the bedrooms were moved upstairs to improve contestants’ movement and provide better camera sightlines.

According to the organisers, every aspect of the design is influenced by both creative vision and production needs, with particular attention paid to visibility, camera positioning and the way housemates naturally interact within the environment.
