The All Progressives Congress in Delta Central Senatorial District has endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone and all other candidates of the party for the 2027 general elections.
This is at the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo urged all party members to remain steadfast and work for the victory of the party’s candidates at all levels, including that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The endorsement was announced in a statement on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Festus Ahon, following the Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ Strategic Meeting held at the Petroleum Training Institute Conference Centre, Effurun.
According to the statement, party leaders, stakeholders and members unanimously backed the candidates while also calling for unity and intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
“The endorsement came during the Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ Strategic Meeting held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Conference Centre, Effurun.
“Moving the motion for the endorsement, which was seconded by Hon. Halims Agoda, the party’s founding leader, Chief O’tega Emerhor, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for their policies and programmes, which he said were impacting Nigerians and Deltans positively.
“The motion was subsequently put to a voice vote by the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, and was unanimously adopted,” the statement read.
Speaking at the meeting, Arenyeka said the stakeholders’ meetings across the state’s three senatorial districts were initiated after the State Working Committee reviewed party activities and resolved to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
He described the Delta Central gathering as proof that the strategy was yielding results, noting that the calibre of personalities in attendance reflected growing unity within the party.
Arenyeka also commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as sustained efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen party structures across Delta State.
He welcomed defectors from other political parties, assuring them of equal opportunities and full integration into the APC.
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, said Oborevwori’s emergence as the party’s governorship candidate reflected the confidence reposed in his leadership and performance.
He urged members to put the primaries behind them and unite for the general election.
“The primaries have come and gone. Winners have emerged and some may naturally feel disappointed. However, the time for internal competition is over. The election ahead is bigger than any individual’s ambition. Let us forgive one another, heal every misunderstanding and work together for the success of our party,” Akpeki said.
Also addressing the gathering, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, congratulated all candidates who emerged victorious in the APC primaries and praised those who accepted the outcomes.
“The APC is not a miracle centre where people simply go to obtain tickets. Our candidates emerged through the party’s democratic processes, and we must all respect those outcomes,” Keyamo said.
He added that President Tinubu’s economic reforms were beginning to yield positive results through increased government revenue and investments in infrastructure, job creation and poverty reduction.
Senator Dafinone thanked party leaders and stakeholders for their support and pledged to facilitate more employment and empowerment opportunities for youths if re-elected.
Leaders from the three federal constituencies in Delta Central also pledged to work collectively to ensure victory for all APC candidates in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of women in the district, Executive Director of Business Development at NEXIM Bank, Stella Okotete, said Delta Central would deliver at least one million votes for the APC, while calling for greater inclusion and empowerment of women and youths.
Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Isaiah Esiovwa, also assured the party of grassroots mobilisation by council chairmen across the district.
Separately, Keyamo, in a post on his X handle on Sunday, said the meeting provided an opportunity to congratulate the party’s candidates and appreciate aspirants who remained with the APC despite losing at the primaries.
“I urged all party members to remain steadfast and work for the victory of our candidates at all levels, including that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he wrote.
