The governor said the House of Assembly Commission failed to reveal the correct seniority order of the eligible staff members for the position of Clerk of the House of the Cross River State House of Assembly.

He said he was misguided to select Mr Patrick Edi over Mrs Catherine Ubi, adding that it has caused a ripple effect.

The governor has therefore sacked Mr Patrick Edi as Clerk of the Assembly and approved the appointment of Catherine Ubi as the substantive clerk of the Cross River State House of Assembly.
