The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Blessing Agabe Karbolo, has added another feather to her cap following her call to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Agabe, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was among the new set of lawyers inducted during the Call to Bar ceremony held on Tuesday at the Body of Benchers Complex in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Speaking to in a telephone interview on Tuesday afternoon, Agabe expressed delight at the feat, saying all the glory belongs to God.
She stated, “What can I say? I’m overwhelmed,” and further quoted the Bible in Romans 9:16 thus: “It’s not of him who willeth nor runneth but by the one (God) that showeth mercy.”
She hails from Ogoni, specifically Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Agabe was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2023 after completing a five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
She thereafter proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus, where she successfully earned the Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification and later obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
On April 10, 2026, Agabe was appointed the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command following her approval by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, upon the recommendation of the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and his management team.
Her call to the Bar marks a significant milestone in her professional career, adding legal practice to her responsibilities as a police officer and the current image-maker of the Rivers State Police Command.
Agabe has enhanced her operational and leadership capabilities through several specialised professional courses, including the Combat Operations and Counter-Terrorism Course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, and the Citizenship and Leadership Training Course at Shere Hills, Jos, Plateau State, among others
