The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has announced a power outage affecting parts of the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State following a technical fault on a Transmission Company of Nigeria facility.
AEDC disclosed this in a notice issued on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The company said the outage resulted from a fault on the TCN 132kV Apo–Karu Line 1, which disrupted bulk electricity supply to several areas.
Affected locations include “Karu, Nyanya, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba, Ado, New Nyanya, New Karu, Uke, Masaka, Auta Balaifi, Keffi, Nasarawa Toto, Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and environs.”
AEDC, however, assured residents that power restoration efforts were ongoing.
“The technical team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is currently working to restore power supply around 3:00 pm today, 10th June 2026.
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the company stated.
This outage comes amid Nigeria’s longstanding electricity crisis, where demand consistently outstrips supply.
AEDC, one of Nigeria’s DisCos, serves the FCT and parts of Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi states.
