Police uncover whereabouts of Lagos missing boy

The Lagos State Police Command has successfully located Master Ovie Kehinde, the young boy whose disappearance sparked widespread concern after a viral video circulated on social media.

It was learnt on Thursday that the boy was found alive and well in Bariga on Sunday, and has been reunited with his mother, the police confirmed.

The case drew urgent attention when a distressed mother appealed for help in a video lamenting the disappearance of her son.

In response, the Lagos State Police Command stated it swiftly activated all relevant investigative units, including special tactical squads and police divisions across Lagos and neighbouring states to recover the boy.

According to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assigned the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba to discreetly lead the investigation.

He said, “Detectives of the SCID found Master Ovie Kehinde alive and well in Bariga yesterday. He has been handed over to his mother.”

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring the safe return of missing persons, emphasising, “We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to bring missing persons back to their families safely.”
